GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a European Union (EU) data privacy regulation.
In an increasingly data-driven world, the EU decided to renew the data privacy principles, which GDPR is the result of. The main objective of GDPR is to put the customers/individuals in control of their own data and to consolidate privacy regulations across the EU. GDPR will come into effect on May 25th, 2018.

There are several sources for more information about GDPR and the impact it has on consumers and businesses. Below are some of the links we have found interesting:

Being a publisher of children games, we have not only been looking at GDPR but also GDPR-K.
GDPR-K is close to what is called COPPA in the US. MovieStarPlanet has been working with COPPA since 2012.

If you would like to read more about GDPR-K, the below article could be of interest.

Obviously, GDPR/GDPR-K is causing big changes for all businesses and how they handle and work with data. At MovieStarPlanet we have decided to look at the positive side of GDPR. We believe having one set of rules for all countries in the EU and allowing the consumers to make their own decisions regarding their digital data will increase consumer confidence in all businesses across industries and countries, which can only be considered an upside for both consumers and businesses.
