On November 6th and 7th the Family Online Safety Institute hosted their 7th Annual Conference in Washington, DC. The two-day event, entitled “Connect, Share, Empower” drew together many of the key themes in online safety and privacy from the US, Europe and Australia. The event took place at the Ronald Reagan Building and featured a wide array of speakers and attendees from around the world.
Attending these international events gives enormous value in terms of gaining up to ate knowledge on research in this area as well as giving the opportunity to network with professional colleagues working with online safety issues from all over the world…. It once again shows our commitment to being at the cutting edge in terms of gaining knowledge in the fast developing online child safety and privacy arena.
While in Washington the Community manager for the US and I, were able to visit the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, to further consolidate our cooperation with this internationally known online child safeguarding agency.
