Egmont Kids Media has partnered with popular online tween world MovieStarPlanet to produce books and magazines based on the brand.
The deal will see work published in the UK, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Poland.
All About MovieStarPlanet magazine and MovieStarPlanet: The Official Guide will launch this autumn. The latter includes a poster and stickers.
Egmont Publishing Group MD David Riley said: “Our publishing will bring the virtual world of MovieStarPlanet to life, helping to deepen fans’ engagement and involvement. The handbook and magazine will be the must-have guides for MovieStarPlanet fans.”
MovieStarPlanet CMO Mikkel Vejlgaard added: “We are very excited about this opportunity to work with such a strong partner as Egmont, which sees the same great potential as we do in bringing our game and community to life in the ‘real’ world.
“Our large and loyal userbase will no doubt be just as excited by the chance to explore the unique MovieStarPlanet experience in new ways. The partnership kick-starts a major licensing programme for MovieStarPlanet rolling out across the globe.”
The site currently has 45m users across 11 countries. MovieStarPlanet predicts this will rise to 80m by this December.
Beanstalk is the exclusive global licensing agent for MovieStarPlanet and brought both parties together. Beanstalk has just added MovieStarPlanet to its client base.
